Yucatan Knot

The Yucatan Knot is a dark horse contender for one of the best knots for connecting lines that you’ve never heard of. The knot calls for a doubled mainline for making the connection to your leader of choice, and some anglers swear by its remarkable breaking strength due to the use of a doubled line.

This knot is also relatively easy to tie when compared to some of more popular line-to-line knot choices, and it can also result in a smaller thickness and diameter profile than popular choices such as the Albright Knot or the Uni-to-Uni Knot. Due to its perceived strength and comparative simplicity, many saltwater anglers use it for fishing the surf or chasing big game fish offshore.
